When producing the user's manual we use a configuration file saying PREDEFINED = As I said, it is a hack and I really hope there is/will be a better way to do that. Of course, we have the same problem with "internal" functions, "internal" enums... anything. Great work, PeoPLe! I downloaded the new PPL and had a look at the code and some tests. There are lots of improvements over the library as it was when I had to quit the project last summer. Of course, I don't know exactly what changed under the hood (I skim the ppl-devel archives once in a while, and I even had troubles compiling the tests!), but it seems that, at least for the user interface, our dreams have become true. We are glad to announce the first release of The Parma Polyhedra Library (version 0.1) http://www.cs.unipr.it/ppl/ The Parma Polyhedra Library is a C++ library for the manipulation of convex polyhedra. The applications of convex polyhedra include program analysis, integer and combinatorial optimization and statistical data-editing. But from my reading of the source (e.g. mpz/init.c), there are no such checks. (In fact, it seems gmp_errno is only ever set by the randomness functions. And I wouldn't miss it if it was purged from the code; using global variables for error reporting is ugly). The other alternative is to expect the allocation function to longjmp out on failure (and C++ exceptions is about the same thing, from GMP:s point of view). Then GMP has to be careful not to leak any memory when such jumps happen. /Niels
