I am interfacing a C++ library to SICStus Prolog. One of the problems with C++ is that different compilers and different compiler versions are usually incompatible with each other. For this reason it would be important to be able to tell spld which compiler to use for its job. Since there is already provision for --with-<package>=<DIR> where "package" is one of "jdk", "tcltk", or "bdb", why do not extend the concept to accommodate also
--with-<program>=<path>
where program is one of "cc", "cxx", or "ld"? Thanks a lot,
Roberto
