Log message: No longer use global variables of kind mpz_class, since that does not allow to precisely control construction and destruction time. This triggers a bug in pl_check.pl: apparently it tries to use the PPL interface after having called ppl_finalize/0 without an intervening invocation of ppl_initialize/0.
