Log message: Renamed `simplify_on_input_ex()' and `simplify_on_output_ex()' in `simplify_ex_for_input()' and `simplify_ex_for_output()'. Moreover, if the expression to simplify must be expanded, then the same function that simplifies calls the method `expand()'.
